An action is the smallest unit of work in ActionPlan. Every action belongs to a job and optionally to a cost area, so effort and progress stay tied to commercial reality.

    Create an action

    1. Open Planning → ActionPlan, or open a job and switch to the ActionPlan tab.
    2. Click New action.
    3. Fill in title, description, assignee, due date, priority and estimated minutes.
    4. Optionally attach a cost area so effort rolls up correctly on job reports.
    5. Save.

    Fields explained

    • Assignee — the single person accountable.
    • Due date — drives dashboard risk colouring and reminders.
    • Priority — Low, Medium, High, Critical.
    • Estimated minutes — feeds capacity planning.
    • Status — your org's configured workflow.
    • Blocked reason — required when moving to a Blocked status.

    Progress and complete

Assignees drag actions through statuses. Marking an action Done stamps a completion timestamp used by throughput reports.

    Common issues

    • Can't see an action — check the filters at the top of the hub.
    • Action can't be assigned — user may not have access to the parent job.
