This guide explains how to connect your Slack workspace to AtomicSam. The integration lets you send automatic notifications about your jobs to designated Slack channels, keeping your team informed.

    Before you start

    • You need administrator permissions in your AtomicSam organization.
    • You must have permission to install apps in your Slack workspace.
    • Your organization must be on the Pro or Ultra plan to use this integration.

    Connect your Slack workspace

Connecting your workspace is the first step. This allows AtomicSam to see your public channels and post messages.

    1. Navigate to Settings โ†’ Integrations.
    2. Find the Slack card in the list of available integrations and click Connect.
    3. You will be redirected to a Slack authorization screen. If you belong to multiple Slack workspaces, make sure you select the correct one from the dropdown menu in the top right.
    4. Review the permissions AtomicSam is requesting.
    5. Click Allow to approve the connection.
    6. Slack will redirect you back to the integrations page in AtomicSam, where a confirmation message will appear. Your workspace is now connected.

    Configure notifications

After connecting, you need to choose which events trigger a notification and where they should be sent.

    1. Go to Settings โ†’ Integrations and click Manage on the Slack card.
    2. You will see a list of available notifications, such as New Job Created, Quote Accepted, or Task Completed.
    3. For each notification type, use the dropdown menu to select the Slack channel where you want the message to appear.
    4. After configuring your notifications, click Save Settings.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: To send notifications to a private Slack channel, you must first invite the AtomicSam app to that channel. Go to the private channel in Slack and type /invite @AtomicSam.

    Disconnect your Slack workspace

If you no longer want to receive notifications, you can disconnect the integration.

    1. Navigate to Settings โ†’ Integrations.
    2. Click Manage on the Slack card.
    3. Click the Disconnect button.
    4. A dialog will ask you to confirm your choice. Click Confirm Disconnect to proceed.

โš ๏ธ Heads up: Disconnecting immediately stops all notifications and deletes your channel configurations. If you decide to reconnect later, you will need to set up your notifications again.

    Good to know

    • The integration sends one-way notifications from AtomicSam to Slack. It does not support creating or updating jobs or tasks from within Slack.
    • You can connect only one Slack workspace to your AtomicSam organization at a time.
    • Any staff member with administrator permissions can manage the Slack integration settings.
    • Notifications are sent in real time as the corresponding events happen in AtomicSam.
