Recover access to your account
Learn how to reset your password or use a recovery code to regain access to your AtomicSam account. This ensures you can get back to work quickly if you are ever locked out.
This guide explains how to regain access to your AtomicSam account if you are locked out. Following these steps helps you securely sign back in and resume your work.
Before you start
- You need access to the email address you use to sign in to AtomicSam.
- If you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, you should have your recovery codes saved in a safe place.
Reset your forgotten password
If you cannot remember your password, you can request a reset link to be sent to your email address.
- Navigate to the AtomicSam sign-in page.
- Below the password field, click the Forgot password? link.
- Enter the email address associated with your account.
- Click Send Reset Link. We will send a password reset email to that address.
- Open your email inbox and find the message from AtomicSam with the subject "Reset your password".
- Click the reset link inside the email. This opens a new page in your web browser.
- Enter your new, strong password in the New password field.
- Enter the same password again in the Confirm new password field.
- Click Set New Password to save the change and sign in.
๐ก Tip: If you do not see the email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. The password reset link will expire after a few hours for your security.
Sign in with a 2FA recovery code
If you have two-factor authentication enabled but cannot access your authentication device, you can use a recovery code to sign in.
- On the AtomicSam sign-in page, enter your email and password.
- Click Sign In.
- On the Two-Factor Authentication screen, click the link that says Use a recovery code.
- Enter one of the 16-digit recovery codes you saved when you first set up 2FA.
- Click Verify to complete the sign-in process.
โ ๏ธ Heads up: Each recovery code can only be used once! After using a code, make sure to cross it off your list. You cannot reuse it.
Once you are signed in, we recommend you reset your two-factor authentication. This will generate a new set of recovery codes. Go to Your Profile โ Security to manage your 2FA settings.
When you still cannot sign in
If you try to reset your password but never receive an email, your account may have been archived or removed from the organization. Password resets only work for active staff members.
In this case, you need to contact another staff member from your organization who has admin permissions. They can check your status by going to Settings โ Staff Members. If your account was archived, they can restore it so you can regain access.
Good to know
- For security, AtomicSam support staff cannot reset your password, change your account email address, or disable two-factor authentication for you. You must use these self-service tools.
- If you use all of your 2FA recovery codes, and an admin in your organization is available, they can temporarily disable 2FA on your behalf.
- If you are the only admin for your organization and you are locked out of your account without recovery codes, you will need to contact AtomicSam support. We will help you begin an account recovery process, which can take several days and requires identity verification.
