When you log in to AtomicSam, the first screen you see is the dashboard. It gathers the most important information from across your organization into a single view. This saves you from running multiple reports to see what needs your attention.
Before you start
- To see the dashboard, you need to be a staff member with login access to AtomicSam.
Understand the dashboard widgets
The dashboard is made up of several widgets, each summarizing a different part of your business. Here are the key widgets you will use most often.
Jobs Summary
This widget shows a count of jobs in each major stage, such as Draft, In Progress, and Completed. You can click on any status to see a filtered list of all jobs in that stage. It helps you understand your current workload and see which jobs are moving forward.
Financial Snapshot
Here you find key financial metrics that require action. It typically includes the total value of Unpaid Invoices, the amount that is Overdue, and the value of unbilled time entries and expenses. This helps you stay on top of your cash flow.
Profitability Overview
This chart visualizes your organization's profitability over a selected time period. It compares your total invoiced revenue against your job costs, including labor and expenses. Use this to track financial performance trends without needing to build a full report.
Recent Activity
The activity feed displays a running list of recent actions taken by you and your team. You might see updates like a new job being created, a quote being sent to a client, or a staff member logging time. This provides transparency and helps everyone stay informed.
ℹ️ Good to know: The widgets you see depend on your role and permissions. For example, if you do not have permission to view financial information, you will not see the Financial Snapshot or Profitability Overview widgets.
Customize your dashboard
You can adjust the dashboard to fit your focus. Reorder widgets to bring the most important information to the top.
- Navigate to your main dashboard.
- Click and hold the title bar of any widget.
- Drag the widget to a new position on the page and release it.
- Your layout is saved automatically for your next visit.
💡 Tip: Many widgets have a link to View all. Click this to jump directly to the relevant section of AtomicSam with the correct filters already applied.
Good to know
- The data on your dashboard updates in near real-time. Refresh your browser for the most current information.
- The date range for some widgets, like the Profitability Overview, can be changed directly on the widget. You can switch between views like Last 30 days or This quarter.
- Dashboard customizations are unique to each staff member. Changing your layout does not affect what your teammates see.
